National Park Trails — Poland
Practical route notes, elevation data, access rules and reservation details for hiking and cycling trails across Polish national parks.
Park Overview
Poland maintains 23 national parks covering roughly 317,000 hectares. Each park operates its own trail permitting system, seasonal access windows and fee structure. Below are six areas with the highest trail network density.
The highest mountains in Poland. Over 270 km of marked trails, including the iconic Orla Perć ridge route. Entrance to the upper zones requires paid day tickets between June and October.
Route details →Open ridgeline walking on poloninas — broad alpine meadows above the treeline — with no technical climbing involved. The longest single route, the E3, crosses into Slovakia.
Route details →A UNESCO World Heritage lowland primeval forest. Walking routes here are guided-only inside the strict reserve zone. European bison (żubr) sightings are common on forest roads.
Route details →The Sudeten Giant Mountains on the Czech border. The main ridge trail (Główny Szlak Sudecki) runs 440 km in total. The Karkonosze section is accessible year-round from Karpacz.
Flat sandy dunes and ancient river terraces 30 km from Warsaw. 360 km of marked routes, including dedicated cycling paths. No entry fees — the park is open continuously.
The smallest national park in Poland (2,146 ha) but one of the richest in archaeological sites. The Prądnik Valley trail connects limestone gorges, caves and medieval ruins.

"The Bieszczady article saved me a wrong turn on Polonina Wetlińska. The note about the seasonal shelter at Chatka Puchatka being closed before June was correct."
"Useful notes on the Tatra ticketing system. The online booking link worked as described. The Orla Perć difficulty rating is honest — do not underestimate it."
"The Białowieża guide-booking information was accurate for our September visit. The forest in early autumn is exceptional."
